August saw the launch of Queensland Positive Peoples' (QPP) first major health campaign with the help of Jet Blaq Design and noted artist Ray Cook-Photographer. The campaign launch was met with much praise and discussion. At this stage the campaign will continue until early 2008.

Jet Blaq worked closely with Peter Watts treatments officer to deliver a campaign that met the brief while being sensitive to those living with HIV.

The main objectives of the campaign were to inform gay and other homosexually active men of:

1.    the rise in HIV notifications

2.    the risk factors associated with HIV transmission

3.    the severity of HIV infection; and

4.    how to prevent HIV infection

Hard copies of the campaign were distributed throughout Queensland and a possible wider audience with the inclusion of web based marketing.

Shortly after the campaign was launched QPP was invited to show elements of the campaign (the condom packs) at the Arc Biennial.

The Biennial was created as a mechanism to profile and develop the role of visual art, craft and design practitioners in Australia, with the spot light on artist Ray Cook the campaign was the perfect medium to illustrate when art meets advertising.

The Biennial commences in October to find out more click on the link below.
